Sustainable Design

Start-ups and offices are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of environmentally responsible building and interior design. As a result, more and more clients seek to incorporate sustainability principles in their interiors. Siyarch Studio has had a tremendous impact on the sustainability of an environment because we are the ones deciding which materials and products will be used and how ecologically people will be able to interact with their surrounding work spaces.

By following these sustainable interior design principles, designers reduce the negative environmental impact of our society and build a better, more sustainable future.

1. Design for energy efficiency

Energy consumption is one of the major contributors to climate change. Buildings are responsible for a big share of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions, caused by energy consumption. Architects and interior designers can do a lot to improve a building’s energy efficiency, mainly by reducing the amount of energy needed for heating, lighting, running appliances, etc., and by providing renewable, non-carbon-based energy to the building.
Heating and lighting are the two most crucial factors interior designers have influence over. Since most of the building’s heat escapes through windows, it’s important that the installed windows are of high quality and provide good insulation.

Curtains and drapes keep both cold air and the sun’s heat outside. Window coverings, blinds and shades enable residents to control the building’s temperature in an energy efficient way by opening and shutting them as needed.
Carpets are excellent thermal insulators; according to estimations, a carpet retains as much as 10 % of a room’s heat.

2. Energy Efficiency

Energy consumption is one of the major factors responsible for climate change. Commercial offices are responsible to generate a large amount of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions. Commercial interior designers can use innovation to reduce energy requirements. Siyarch Studio uses energy efficient designs, structures and materials to improve the usage of energy in offices. Our use of sensors to control lighting and air-conditioning inside the offices has been successful with all our clientele.

 3. Eco friendly materials.

In the process of reducing chemicals from office interior design, one must be cautious to find a balance between natural materials (wool, wood, stone etc.) and synthetic materials. Easily renewable materials such as fast-growing bamboo, recycled wood, reinventing old and useful furniture are some of the techniques which you can use.

4. Reduce Waste

Siyarch Studio is committed to reducing waste. Recycle, Upcycle, Repurpose is our mantra. Siya Modi and her team make ergonomic designs for all office decor, thereby improving their functionality and making them sustainable. Using recycled products, office interior designers can lower the environmental impact of the workspaces.

5. Long-term planning

Leonardo Da Vinci once said, “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”.

This statement can be true in the case of modern office interior design. Quality over quantity, functionality over decoration, your office decor can be modern, technologically state-of-the-art and yet eco-friendly. This is achieved by making flexible and organic workspaces, allowing them to grow and change as time passes.

Siya and her team makes sustainable and future-ready offices by choosing materials keeping in mind their usage.

6. Health is Wealth

People spend most of their time indoors in offices, co-working spaces, and workspaces. Designing and building a healthy environment is Siya and her teams first priority.

7. Going green in offices –

It emerged that when we work in green offices, we get a 26% boost in cognition, and 30% fewer sickness related absences.  What’s more, respondents also reported a 6% rise in their sleep quality. This is a study at the Harvard Business School, on how biophilic designs help startups and young collaborative spaces thrive. At Siyarch, we have incorporated green, real or artificial( especially in places where growth of a plant is not possible). At unlikely places, you will find pleasant green spaces weaved into our design. The calm, and stressbusting qualities. Apart from that, real plants, have an effect on the atmosphere, clarity of oxygen and overall physical and mental wellness of the teams.
