Challenges
The i-lab likely has a dynamic, creative, and tech-forward aesthetic. The executive hub, on the other hand, needs a more formal, professional tone. Striking a balance between visual coherence and functional differentiation can be tricky.
Also the floor had all small rooms as was being used as a student accommodation which had to be completely renovated to make bigger spaces to make room for the new design spaces like theatre and executive classroom.
The executive hub serves decision-makers, mentors, and investors, unlike the i-lab which is user-centric and flexible. The hub needs quieter zones, confidential meeting spaces, and a prestigious feel.
Solution
Executive Hub’s design features a multifunctional and luxuriously minimalist look underscored with natural accents. It symbolizes the status-quo of Simad I Lab with its deluxe yet understated aura. Stylish and unique, many of the details – such as the lighting and furniture – are highly customized. The use of light & dark colors/materials evokes a contrasting, trendy effect that adds even more appeal to the attraction of this office.
Design in each individual space speaks for itself as its unique, quirky and at the same time welcoming and heartwarming due to the use of natural materials in the sustainable design adopted to execute the vision of ICE Somalia.
